Unidentified photo identified

It's listed in the State Archives as 'unknown', but a little detective work and a lot of local knowledge figures it out.

This is unmistakeably inner Sydney, the ring closest to downtown, like Surry Hills, Darlo, Redfern, Chippendale, Ultimo, etc. At the far end, there's a large building with a sign with the letters **YMP**. The street is very narrow and dog-legs toward the end with extended backyards.

That's enough for me. 

Though Street View doesn't go the full way to the spot where the photo above was taken, the narrow street dog-legs further down, and now obscured by the trees behind is a large abandoned building that used to be West's Olympia Theatre. Those angled terraces on the right are now behind us if you turn around in Street View.
